Last Minute Valentine's Day Ideas & Gift Guide

Valentine’s Day isn’t something you necessarily need to plan far in advance. In fact, there are loads of last-minute date ideas that you could try that will ensure that you enjoy yourselves. Here are our some of our favourites:

1. Spa day

If you’re in the mood to relax and unwind, then booking a couples spa day is the perfect option. Our favourites include The Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder, Blythswood Square in Glasgow and the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh.

You can also create your own at-home spa day with some bath salts, soothing candles and massage oils.

2. Movie night

Fancy a night at the movies? For any couple who would rather avoid a packed cinema then why not create your own fun filled movie night at home.

Browse Netflix for a cheesy romantic comedy, We’re thinking absolute guilty-pleasure films along the lines of How to Lose a Guy in 10 DaysCan’t Buy Me Love and Hitch, and make sure you have your favourite sweet treats to make the most of it.

3. Home-cooked meal

We all know that you have to book your favourite restaurant weeks in advance for Valentine’s Day dinner. So if you have left it last minute, a great alternative would be to stay in and cook a meal together.

Make it a real team effort by splitting culinary duties. For example, if you’re attempting to make homemade pizza, have one of you make the base and the other concoct the sauce.
